Ascension Health Case History
The Situation
Ascension
Health is the nation's largest Catholic and largest nonprofit
health system, serving patients through a network of hospitals
and related health facilities, providing acute care services,
long-term care, community health services, psychiatric, rehabilitation
and residential care.
Clinical Excellence is a strategic priority
for Ascension Health. As a mission-driven organization of over
100,000 healthcare professionals, the health system committed
to a program of Clinical Excellence in 2003, with a goal of
Zero Preventable Injuries or Deaths by July 2008. Along with
the many medical, technological and educational tactics needed
to achieve this goal, Ascension Health needed to communicate
specifically to its employees with accessible, easy-to-use materials,
appropriate for busy caregivers. Additionally, the support materials
needed to be distributed and shared across the entire Ascension
Health system easily and inexpensively.
